Shot in May of 2007, this picture is from Habana Vieja, the historic old side of the capital city. Capturing a 1950’s aura was easy when everything present was manufactured pre-1959. The revolution and subsequent US embargo have left manufacturing processes and technology in paralysis

The graffiti is accompanied by a large sign encouraging all to participate in the May 1st International Worker’s Day parade (Día Internacional de los Trabajadores)
